Why this exists

Belonging needs somewhere to happen.

The internet is good at gathering people around the same interests. But a group on a screen cannot replace a room, a route, a pitch, a workshop, or the familiar faces that return each week.

Near You is a bridge from interest to presence. There are no profiles, feeds, public attendance lists, or messages from strangers. It finds an existing real-world group and sends you to the organizer’s own page.

We favour things people can do together and return to: walking, making, learning, volunteering, playing, practising, and contributing. Repeated contact gives familiarity somewhere to grow.

Public information is often incomplete. We show only what the source supports and ask you to check the organizer’s page before setting out.
